Montana Subwoofer

Helping a friend with replacing stereo in 2005 Montana 5th wheel.
Original stereo had a wire to a subwoofer, connected it to new stereo, no base can be heard anywhere. No sign of a subwoofer anywhere.
Anyone find theirs? With a wire there at the stereo, the other end may just be disconnected, or the speaker may be bad. There has to be a subwoofer, the small (2-3"?) speakers could never have ay base.

TIA

Dave

The original stereo may have had a pre-amp output which triggered an amplifier in the subwoofer. If your current amp is putting out line output to the sub it will not see any signal. Same is true of the reverse.

Be sure the output for the amp is set for a subwoofer. Some default to no sub and you must turn it on in the on-screen menu.
