traveldawg, I will bet that there was an under laying reason that hitch failed in the video. Failure from just starting to move after a stop at a light?
I would guess that it had been placed under a LOT of stress before that failure that weakened the hitch and lead to the total failure.
Just a guess but to each their own. I like mine and do not want the P.I.A. weight when I move it in or out.
 Happy Glamping!!

I do like my B&W slider, and don’t want to give up safety, but the convenience part is a big deal for me. Coming in at about 250 lbs it is big project to get it in and out. I find that for the few times a year we are using it, I tend to leave it in due to the hassle and then I don’t have the use of my truck bed. Also, my truck is my everyday vehicle.
I want the 5th wheel to be an enjoyable experience and this is the one thing that cuts into it. I just don’t look forward to having to put the thing in or out.

Maybe get an engine hoist to move the hitch in and out of the bed. It would probably be cheaper that a new hitch.

Not sure why, but whenever we are at a campground I find it interesting to count how many Anderson hithches are on trailers compared to the normal kingpins. In most cases the normal kingpins win out everytime.
For me, I like the safety factor knowing that kingpin is held tight in my truck with a steel hitch, especially when we hit a decent size bump in our wonderful road system.

Exactly what I did when I had my Superglide. Worked great, just put a couple of eye bolts in pre-existing holes, hooked it up, drove out from under it, lowered it onto a couple of furniture dollies to move it around as needed. Still, I do not miss it lol.

Just had our first trip with the new Anderson Ultimate Hitch (3rd generation). It was awesome.
First, the installation was as easy as it looked on some of the YouTube videos I found - with one exception. There are four set screws that hold the adapter in place on the kingpin. You need a 1/4” hex bit to tighten them, but it requires an extended bit to reach them. One of the four couldn’t quite be reached and I thought it had stripped. Once I figured out it wasn’t (a rather frustrating process that I won’t go into) I was able to find something I could use in one of my bit sets for an extension. Problem solved. Also, there were some instructions actually missing in the brochure. The piece that slides up into the hitch that sits on the ball hitch came separate but all the videos and the instruction show it as already installed. Not a big deal, but it could go in a number of ways and I had to freeze frame a video to see the correct way to insert it (it makes a difference).
As for the connecting to the truck and the ride itself - super easy and extremely smooth ride. I have been used to my B&W Companion being such a solid ride so I was hoping I wouldn’t be disappointed and I definitely wasn’t.
All in all, very satisfied. And now I’m about take it out as I won’t need it until the end of the month. This is the main reason I made the switch - easy in and out.

Povo glad your happy with your Anderson hitch. I sure wish I had know about them when we bought our 5er.
My current Eaz-Lift hitch weighs 200lbs plus. I can only put it in the bed or remove from bed with help from my son.
