New MORyde Steps

I purchased the Moryde Steps for our 2016 Keystone Cougar from a dealership. When we arrived at a RV park I began the install. No matter what I tried I could not get the steps to lie flat on the threshold. Yes, I had the right size steps for our fifth wheel. I tried everything but nothing would bring the step bracket down. I looked at others in the Park and saw how they were supposed to fit.

I called the company and sent them pictures showing them the bracket sitting up which does not allow the door to close. Like most companies they began questioning my install and tried everything to blame it on me. Having a fairly good engineering sense I went back at them with not only pictures but a drawing and dimensions.

Finally, they turned it over to one of their production engineers and he found the problem... the person who bent that bracket did not follow the specs. He sent me an engineering drawing entitled, "Replacement" bracket. How profound!

He also sent out the replacement bracket with hardware to replace the rivets and it worked fine. I thought I would get a thank you since it would be hard to say how many brackets were sent out BENT IMPROPERLY. An Engineering FLAW and "heads up" to anyone who may experience the same problem.

Kind of unusual for Morryde to mess up--guess it can happen. Hope the same guy doesn't do IS work...
