New to me 5th wheel

Hello All,
First I would like to start off with a big thank you to this site and its members, what a great help along with YouTube and the appliance manufactures sites. I haven’t needed to ask the first question as the search feature here works so well.

I have been wanting an RV for some time and one came up on craigslist so I checked into it. Turned out to be a great buy for a 2009 Palomino Puma 245RKS. While I know it is a entry level RV it has fit me very well as I was limited for now with my half ton truck (I know bigger is better) and wanting a cash deal. Perfect on both accounts, nothing better than enjoying a RV with no loan and in great shape.

The previous owner only used it for a place to stay when visiting his daughter and knew nothing about it. This is good and bad, good as it is like new, bad is we all know the equipment needs exerciser. However I am a very good DIY person with a strong electrical background and do not cut corners when taking on a project so it is all good.

I have not really made any improvements to date but focused on getting everything shipshape first. Thanks to this form tires were first, then the electric feature to the water heater, wheel bearings and brakes serviced. He must have turned on the water heater without water as the heating element; t-stat and switch were all bad. But thanks to Suburban web site and Amazon the cost was under $30. So far that is the way all the maintenance has been simple and easy on the wallet. The roof was neglected but during my inspection I found no leaks just areas that needed attention, corrected those areas and still no leaks. Now if I can just get my FWB (friend with benefits) to keep the fridge closed it will be even better, lol.

The only upgrade to date is adding a second 12v battery and TV’s. I don’t boondock, not because I don’t wish to but haven’t found a place here in Florida to do so yet. Next year will be a newer and larger TV as this old girl has about severed her purpose and would not want to take her through any mountains.

Again Thanks!

Sure it is my favorite camp ground just hard to get reservations due to it's popularity. It is Fort Desoto campground/park in St Pete, Fl. Fishing, kayaking and sunsets right outside your camper!
