Newbie question

I am new to the forum. We are seeking our first camper, a FW toy hauler.
I used nada to find the value, but it tells you retail value. How much would I expect to pay a private owner? A sunny brook 391 with one AC, needs tires, one slide might be an intermittent motor problem but the unit is clean with no odor or obvious leaks. No queen bed in garage. Onan 5000 has under 100'hours but is not currently running. Just trying to get a feel what to offer.
Thanks

Would help to know the year. If you are in the southern half of the US, one AC isn't enough. If it is a triple axle, then 6 tires will be around $1500 or more. When you say Onan isn't currently running--with 100 hrs, should fire right up--could be minor or a big cost to fix.
Look at rvtraderonline.com and pplmotorhomes.com to see if comparable models are for sale. NADA is virtually useless on RVs.

Glad to have you here.

What year is the RV? I think that with some of the problems you have I would get it inspected by someone with RV mechanical experience. You need to factor in what the repairs will cost before you make an offer.

Retail is average price to an individual, like you.

Wholesale is what dealer's pay on average.

Since this is your first RV in my opinion I would refrain from a private sale, especially for any toy hauler. At minimum you'd want to have it inspected by a certified RV specialist.

Year

Sorry, forgot to mention it is a 06.
How much would I expect to pay for an inspection of this unit before I intended to buy it?

I see asking prices from$19.9 to upper $20's. Nada is lower to mid $20's.

I figure since it is 8 years old it has begin showing it's age and there is more to begin going wrong. I noticed the refrig drip tubing is becoming brittle, so there is probably other things getting brittle that I don't see or even know exist.

Thanks

The original Sunnybrook forum is now known as MyRVTalk.com lots of SB current/former owners (me included) and there is one guy on there with a TH possibly the same year as the one you are looking at.
Check it out--you may have to register to get use of the search function, but if you want to ask questions about an SB, this is the place...
