I own one and ‘1/2 ton towable’ is a lot of marketing hype. The GVWR of the 26RBS is 8800 lbs and loaded tongue weight will be in the 1100-1200 lb range.

Look at the yellow/white/black sticker on your drivers side door. What is your truck’s cargo carrying capacity (payload)? The weight of everyone in the truck, all gear, 100 lbs for a hitch plus the aforementioned tongue weight will need to come off this figure.

It can definitely be done, but you will need to check the math for your specific truck. Not just any 1/2 ton truck is suited for a 1/2 ton towable trailer.

As for the trailer, no major complaints. Love our layout and nothing out of the ordinary has gone wrong. I do have a pre-Covid build however….2020 built in 2019 before things took a turn. Complaints are abundant on all brands manufactured after.

Not sure what the question covers but......Depends on the 1/2 ton trucks gvwr/rawr specs engine hp/torque and gears.
We have some 1/2 ton trucks with 8600 gvwr and 6k rawr load E tires
on down to 6xxx gvwr 3200 rawr and many in between sizes.

The trailer ??
no specs so we can guess.

To be clear, the 26RBS is a travel trailer and not a fifth wheel.
I have spent a lot of time looking at various models of Cougars. I started out looking for a travel trailer then ended up with a 5er.
I like the construction of Cougars and think the 2022 model line is a marked improvement over previous years. I recommend getting a Solarflex 400i factory equipped unit from the start. Iím not a fan of king size beds. Queens are plenty big enough and provide more walk around room.
Iím also not a huge fan of the front windshield and would look for a Western edition if possible to eliminate the windshield and window shade.
I think Keystone has worked toward developing an intelligently designed series of campers using thoughtfully integrated engineering.
I like that most, if not all, Cougars are 50 amp service and wired for a second air conditioner. While the InCommand system has had some teething issues I think itís a great concept. Automobiles have been on canbus for decades and itís only logical campers make the switch as they become more complex.
