Comfort Ride wasn't available (or I wasn't aware of it) when we bought our air bag hitch.

Edit: Also added read air bags but being in a rush I chose ones that require min 10 PSI. The 10psi make for a harder ride with no load. Next time I would buy air bags that have jounce blocks inside.

got it

I don`t get it I`ve had the Andersen for 2 years an have experienced none of the issues mentioned above just smooth sailing so maybe you've not set your combination up correctly and are blaming Andersen for your lack of knowledge.
I just know I`m done using the engine crane to remove my hitch to use the truck for what it was designed to do. But you know, to each his own.

My experience with Andersen ult2 has been total customer delight.

I did check my lippert pinbox for deformation and found the Andersen 4 pins seated in the base of the pinbox and no deformation.

My trailer scales at 13k lbs, 2800 pin weight.

Yes, ANDERSEN is not only compatible with MorRyde (I have one), but at least one Andersen produced video used a MorRyde pin box in the demo.

Yes, my faith in Andersen as a company has dropped a few notches. When I emailed the company I had ordered the Anderson from to cancel the order.. I received a phone call from a person at Andersen... he was very very nice about it. He did not attempt to convince me that the Andersen would work, he was incredibly polite about receiving it back. This must have been a drop ship for sure.

However, I feel that Andersen should be a little more upfront on their website about what pin boxes this hitch is recommended for.

From what I understand, the Andersen works well with a non-moving pin box.

I used the Reese puck to rail adapter for my first Andersen (steel) and, even at the lowest setting, it raised the AUH too high for a level trailer. I got the 2nd generation of the aluminum and a Reese goose ball and am now level, then sold the puck adapter.
I did notice a little more trouble with the locking pin, but figured out that it only happened if the funnel was forward of the ball, so I made it a point to have the ball on the rear side of the funnel so the fiver is pulled forward slightly.
Good explanation on issues with the MorRyde pin box except for saying there are two set screws when there are four. I have hit a couple of horrendous dips while towing at 60 (asphalt highway meets concrete overpass) that literally ripped my sofa from its moorings. No damage to MorRyde or AUH, though.
