Possible freezing temps on upcoming trip
Heading out on 3/23 for a 30 day trip from Dallas, on our way to Zion and beyond. Weather forecast shows some possible nights along the way when the temps will get down below freezing (down to maybe 28 a couple nights). We've got an electrically warmed water hose. Given that we'll most certainly be running the heater in the rig on those nights, should I be worried about waterlines freezing? Trailer is a Cedar Creek 5th wheel. Trying to figure out if we need to change some of our stops to avoid some of the freezing temps. Days show in the 50's -60's.

Under those conditions the furnace will keep the plumbing warm. So bring plenty of gas and set it to cozy. Turn on tank heaters if not empty. If you want to play it super safe get a gallon or two of pink and get it into the tanks so it will protect the valves.

You should have no problems. If you are concerned use your onboard tanks and do not keep your hose hooked up.
In reality even without a heated hose for the short about of time the weather is that cold the volume of water in the hose should not freeze.
I would be more concerned about a hooked up sewer line. You ill have some small amounts of water in it that will freeze quickly and could cause problems.
The only real time you have to worry about things really freezing is sustained temperatures below freezing. If it drops below freezing for a few hours/day it is not typically a big deal.

Getting down to 28 during the night is hardly anything to worry about. Yes, run the furnace, we do all the time on electric. Heated hose is nice if the parks stand pipe is heated.

One thing, it is not only the temps but the duration of the temps. For example, if it is 28 for 1 hour vs. 28 for 6 hours.

You should be ok with the heated hose and the tanks in a heated area.
You can always unhook the hose if your concerned.
We stayed in a campground one April in western OK. Sudden cold front with 35-40 mph winds all nite and 29 degree temps all nite. Grew up in northern OK so we knew to unhook the water hose.
Next morn the camper next door water hose busted and made a beautiful ice sculpture out of a sapling. Out here never forget the wind for cold soak.

If you follow this forum for a while you will find a number of people who have had issues with water hooked to their trailer. Everything from a frozen hose to a burst interior pipe while the owners are gone. We've gotten to where we run off the tank all the time. Fill as needed.
Overnight lows in the upper 20s should be no problem for most RVs even without heat in the unit.

Let the water trickle in the sink. Problem solved.

To do the above the drain must be open to sewer. The slinky could well be frozen in the morning.

This is the key, freezing temps over night are a non issue, couple days yes. As stated above run off you tank with no hose connected you will be using heat so it should keep the plumbing above freezing. I was in TX last month when the ice storm hit, 9* over night with no issues. The majority of the time we were the temps were below freezing night and some days.
I'm home now with temps freezing some nights and it is not winterized. As long as it's just an over night and it warms days I have no issues. My sons 5W is at my house and it's the same way.
