Pre Trip Checklists

What does your checklist look like? I usually just check everything I can think of. This will be our second trip out, so after sitting all summer, going to check all systems operations and double check tires and hubs...going to look for grease fittings that need attention...checking all hoses and wiring devices.

Getting read to go camping:
*Level trailer/turn fridge on day before so it can get cold
*Day of travel....load with supplies/clothing as needed
*check/adjust truck/trailer tire pressures (increase truck rear tire pressures for weight of Trailer Pin)
*Hitch/check connections/lights/Pull Test
*Walk around --remove wheel chocks
*GO

When arriving at CG site:
Outside
*Check power so if any issues you can easily move
*Level side to side then SET Wheel Chocks
*Disconnect/unhitch
*Level Front to Rear
*Connect Utilities (pressure reg/surge guard---leave sewer until leaving)
By now SHE should be ready to open slides...watch as slide extend
*Open Awning, set out camp chairs/table

Inside:
*Open slides when ready/coordinate with HIM
*Check AC Power/Water etc
*Unpack items that will be used daily
*Open shades/blinds
*turn on water heater, A/C Unit etc
*Make cocktails and deliver them

***Both sit back and relax

Departure:
Inside:
*Turn off water heater, A/C Unit
*Pack up anything set out
*Check fridge doors closed/locked
*Close Shades/Blinds
*Close slides

Outside:
*Check/Adjust truck/trailer tire air pressures
*Stow camp chairs/tables etc
*Retract/stow awning
*Connect sewer hoses/dump tanks if at FHU site (otherwise wait until at dump station)
*Disconnect Utilities...stow cord/hoses
*Connect truck/trailer cord
*check lights truck/trailer (I turn on Emergency Flashers and Headlights)
*Lift front landing gear legs about 2" off ground
****PULL Test (Truck in drive/trailer brake controller LEVER ON and slightly pull ---this checks trailer brakes AND That KING PIN Is LATCHED?LOCKED in hitch

*Do a walk around inside/outside
You outside/She inside then repeat with You inside/Her outside

All good....remove wheel chocks and GO

Those are the basics...fine tune as needed

Happy Camping!

I use to have a check list that was as list as long as lookmy arm and that was just mine. Joyce had one about as long.

Now it's much smaller since we have a fully stocked MH except the fridge and clothing. Now its more of a list of maintance and check the fluids and tires. I fill the fridge as nd water up, which I fill the freezer 1 day ahead, and fill the fridge the morning of.
