Rain shelter for generators

I have a new Champion 3500 watt inverter generator. I would anticipate wanting to run when its raining or snowing. The Champion instructions are clear they do not recommend to operate it in the rain or snow. What are other folks doing to provide their generators rain shelter while in use. I'd like something light weight and easily stored away that will protect the generator and not hinder its operation.

Thanks for the link. I'd already looked at many of those tent systems. They would work fine for open frame generators, but the Champion 3500 is a small closed box unit, no place to attach those side support brackets.

Maybe I'll take the rain fly from cheap dome tent and modify it some to cover this little puppy. Just looking for ideas that have already been done.

PVC frame. Not all glued so can be disassembled for transport. One side higher to create a sloped shed roof. A small tarp or heavy plastic over the frame. Held in place with bungees.

What about something on the order of this:

Several types, many different sizes, most are relatively inexpensive

A small EZ up canopy would fairly inexpensive and has the advantage of double duty if you want to use it for sitting under, a BBQ shelter when not raining, or a host of other uses. I've had an EZ UP brand 10x10 for years and park the motorcycles under it when at the track.

I put it under the 5er when it's raining if we're there awhile...To be honest....most of the time I run it in the basement with the doors open....

I use a collapsable dog kennel made of wire that folds flat. When it looks like rain i have a small tarp that i cover it with. Keeps the rain off and is big enough for the gen to vent. Just dont cover the exhaust and point the exhaust away from the camper
