You'll never get it quiet when going down the road. And it will eventually leak water too. Tear out the crappy fan and the noisy flapper valve.
Remove outside grill and cover hole with Eterna Bond and reinstall grill.
Use your roof vent fans to suck out fumes.

I guess that's one way, but not the one I did...If you're into mods, Fantastic Fans makes a range hood with a squirrel cage type fan, 3 speed, and a bright 2 position Led light. I wanted to keep the factory look and fit, do after removing the hood, I drilled out the spot welds, in both the old and new, and removed the fan housing with fan. The new housing and fan fit in old hood perfect, and using small stainless screws, attached it. Removed the two speed switch and the old light switch, installed the new ones, and put the hood back in pace........absolutely quiet even on high speed, and the light really lights up the burner area. The outside vent I used was the original, but I added my own flap, from lexan, and added two small metal hinges......never losing the flap again....

As i couldn't find my paperwork, I knew of a friend that had steered me onto this mod, so got the info there, and that in turn sent me to a Forest River Owners Forum thread.....
