A toy hauler is our last resort. We've only seen one floor plan we like. The problem we have with haulers is that you eat on your couch and watch tv in the kitchen, plus she is not liking the doors to the outside in the cargo area. My thing is that big room and no slides, space will get eaten up quick with a dresser and beds.

I plan to make it to Elkhart this spring and stop by their plant. If I like what I see I'm comfortable with the size and it's no more $ than a toy hauler.

I figured as much with a toy hauler. It was just an idea. There probably is no heat and possibly not much insulation in the garage area either.

I saw a 2 bedroom and 2 bath model I think at either the Forks or SpaceCraft website.

Good luck with RBDRV.

They have one vent in the garage, I've also found them with an electric fireplace. I was going to put down 2" foam on the floor and build up the dove tail then cover it with carpet. A sales person pointed out we're paying for stuff we won't be using as well, such as the fuel cell and the ramp door.

Drv has a couple nice two bedrooms but they cost as much as a custom unit

The Excel plant is in Kansas. They will do a significant amount of customization, but I think within the various frames and floorplans they offer. But especially when you put the wild cargo in the mix-I think you would probably be surprised at what can be done. A call or email to the President, Bryan Tillet, would get all your questions answered about what is possible.

If you don't mind buying used, Travel Supreme built a fantastic, solid, 4 seasons FW in lengths up to 43ft until 2008. The only parts that are proprietary are the end caps and fenders, but they are readily available. You may wish to consider doing an RVtrader search for a TS.
