Re-leveling a 5th wheel

We have a 2019 Crusader 29rsle FW with the automatic leveling legs. We sometimes park for 6 to 12 days. Does anyone re-level their rig after a rainstorm if the floors seem to creak more afterward? We are on gravel/dirt pads somewhat pack down. Just had a storm come thru last night and the floors seem to be creaking more today. Would it make sense to re-level? Not hook up the truck, just push the button for leveling?

Hope that's not a dumb question. This is our first FW. Traded up from a TT with stabilizers.

Thanks for your input.

We have done it on occasion, I dont think it would hurt anything.

We re-level very few times and we have a 45 ft toyhauler. Right now we are sitting in the infield at Elkhart County Fairgrounds in Goshen and it just rained for the last day. If it makes you or the wife feel better about the noise from the floor hit the button. It has not hurt our unit when I have done it.

If you have steps that contact the ground, stow them before you hit the button.

I don’t necessarily hit ‘relevel’ or ‘auto level’ but occasionally do relevel if my bubble level I use inside the rig indicates some shifting/setteling after a few days. I just do it manually based on which side or end is low.

MargoS,
Are you using wider/strong pads under the jacks to spread out the weight over a larger area? If you put some type of 14x14 stiff polymer/wood pad under each jack, then settling becomes a moot point.

Then you miss out on the fun of drinking a beer and watching the rig move up and down by itself.

Its mesmerizing actually.

I agree. Weird to see it move without touching it.

Using 2 x 8 boards but will use some wider and see how it works. Really rainy year this has become. Hoping for dry times soon.

I rarely have to relevel unless it is on soft ground but I do use jack pads to spread the load.

I use a stack of legos every time to shorten the legs. The blocks spread the weight and I never have to re-level. By using a stack of blocks under each leg you shorten the leg & get less wobble walking.
