I’ve 2 Reese hitchs replaced where I work. One was a failure to lock sliding hitch.
(Slider would only lock on one side)
It bent the mount rail so bad it had to be replaced.
The other was just plain wore out.
This was one of their cheaper 16K hitches.
The jaws were no longer aligned when shut.
To get the lock tab to swing over the lock bar it has to be beat into place.
I think if a company says “lifetime warranty”
It should be just that NOT
IF YOU SHOW PROOF OF PURCHASE.
