Refrigerator vents

I would like to put the screens over the 3 vents on the removable panels behind my refrigerator. I stopped by Camping World and the counter salesman talked me out of putting them on he said it holds back the heat and the refrigerator will not cool as good and possibly damage it. Has anyone else experienced a problem.
Thanks GotToGo

A screen will block 1/2 the air flow.

And why do you think the refrig needs a screen. No way for bugs to get in the coach through there (normally anyway).

The screens definitely reduce the natural air flow designed into the ventilation of the absorption units. I did my own test on a previous RV and I would agree with the what "twinboat" said.....blocks 50% if air flow.
