Hello!
I am planning on towing a fifth wheel with a 2017 Ford F150 Supercab (8ft bed) with heavy-duty payload package (which raises the payload to around 2500lbs from the usual 1700-1900lbs). Based on my calculations this should be sufficient for a small fifth wheel (around 25ft length).
I've been researching fifth wheel hitches and I would like to go for a light weight hitch that uses a ball connection (e.g. Anderson Ultimate or Pull-Rite SuperLite), but I am looking for a way to mount the hitch without bolted bed rails. Are there options out there that allow quick removal of the entire setup to allow regular use of the bed? (I'd like to keep the weight of the overall setup down, but this is no must.)
I am aware of OE puck systems but could only find F250s that have this feature.
Pull-Rite has a clean-bed-technology (C-B-T) system that is removable quickly (->
demonstration video on youtube) but they don't seem to have mounting brackets for an F150 (again only for 3/4 ton trucks).
What other options do I have?
Thank you very much in advance!
