Removing stains from EPDM roof.
Can you use Krud Kutter on EPDM roof to remove tree stains and is it worth the effort? Or other product recommendation.

I have never used anything but Wet&Forget. Literally, spray it on and forget about it. Once or twice a year as needed. Simple and safe.

Krud Kutter is a Rustoleum product. Their MSDS wont say what their proprietary products are but some of the rest is ammonia. Follow cleaning instructions something like this: https://www.epdmcoatings.com/blogs/2...-rv-epdm-roof/
I would NOT use this Krud Kutter product on EDPM. I would use a car wash product without wax which will get much of the stain up or a special EDPM roof cleaner. Even something like my standby washing product like Dawn dish soap will strip any wax off the sides The rest of the stains --- oh well - they are 12-13 feet off the ground and really not visible .

I used pool chlorine on mine. Just pored it on and scrubbed with a car wash brush. Then lots of water to rinse it off. Have got a nice white roof now.

I power wash the roof once a year with a med tip. No chemicals are used and it looks like new when done.

I would not use any chemical that is harsh. EPDM or TPO will dry out and fail sooner if you do this.
I use Dicor cleaner or mild soap without alkali's. Power washing with water only is good too. Once a year I put a coating of 303 on it.

plan on putting it on its side?:-)
hose it down when you wash it normally and leave it alone, nobody can see it or cares.

I agree with hone eagle ,, who cares. I will say this stay off the roof as much as possible. Try not to damage the thin luan plywood roof material or harm the EPDM. I like and use the '303' ,not cheap but really good stuff

I was afraid whatever is causing the stains, likely from parking under trees, would cause more damage than trying to clean it. Most stuff I read is telling me to wash it three or four times a year. As a person who is afraid of heights, I don't look forward to climbing on the roof. (spiders, snakes and close places don't bother me, heights do.) What is 303?

fvstringpicker,, to shorten an explaination about '303' ,google '303' protectant. Available in many different dispensers . I buy quarts and apply with a wet rag. Kites are my hobby ,kites are made from spinnakar fabric (nylon ripstop) just like found on sail boats. Wind, sun UV are hell on the fabric,I soak the kite fabric with 303 and it brings color back (a little) but the plus is causing the kite to last longer.

If you ask at the camping store (who sells 'rubber roof' soap) they will give many good reason to wash it .
I will ask how important is it compared to walking on a smooth rubber surface thats wet and then soap it down?
A 13' fall will end your trip ,and possibly any future trips
just
not
worth
it
