I have a 2019 Heartland Big Country 3155 5th wheel with a kitchen gray tank leak. It is leaking near the top where the flanges of the tank rest on angle iron cross member. I believe it is a stress crack and even if I could get to the crack to patch it I don't believe it would hold. As near as I can tell the tank is most likely made of polyethylene.
So I plan on having the tank replaced. I am 79 years old and think it is more than I can handle. Does anyone know of a good place to have this done in the Conroe, Texas area (North of Houston about 60 miles).

Whenever we are in Lake Conroe RV Park, the Thousand Trails Park, and I need some repair parts, I have gone to Holiday World. It is just north of the TSC store on the east side of 45.
Not sure how much it would cost, or how long it could take. But the only dealings I have had with them have been getting parts.

If you take it to a dealer you will likely have to leave it there for a long time. You might consider contacting a few mobile RV repairmen and get estimates from them for time and cost. I think there is a Heartland forum and those folks might help you out with a place to order the tank yourself and have the mobile RV tech install it.

If the damage is somewhat stable you might try some flex seal spray. I have used it on concrete and it is amazing stuff. Might be worth a try.

No chemicals will permanently stick to polyethylene tanks. Heat must be used to repair it (ie, plastic welding).

Due to the cost to remove/repair it is best to replace it.

No experience with these folk just passing info on.

chaps2018....Thanks. I have been in contact with David at Mobile Tech RV. Sounds like he had replaced a few of these tanks before. He asked for the VIN of the 5th wheel and said he would be contacting Heartland to see if he could get a new tank. Will see where this goes.
