Resealing windows
Tomorrow I am planning on installing a new ac into my 5th wheel, and that process will include completely removing a window. The window needs to be resealed anyway, so I was wondering, is any window sealant okay? I plan to just go to Lowes/ home depot after work to pick up sealant, but it dawned on me that I may need to use a specifically rv caulk.

Butyl tape works great. It can be bought at Home Depot also.

Most windows are set in Butyl tape. I would not use caulk on standard windows. If they are frameless windows, you need to check as to how they were sealed in the first place.

Hmm....curious about the need to remove a window to place A/C in 5er. They are typically on the roof. Are you putting in a window A/C and asking about how to seal around that unit?

I agree with the others about the butyl tape but I would also us RV Proflex caulk to seal the window. That is what I use on everything except the roof on my 5er.
I was also curious why you have to remove a window to replace a air conditioner.
