30-35% off easily. I got 43% off when I bought our 2015 fuzion in April 2015. Most people way over estimate their used rig values when selling it. For instance it seems trade in value is about 10-15% or so of the low nada value...easy to see why people get upside down in them if selling after a few years of buying new

Depends on the unit being sold.
You won't ever get the 30%-35% being quoted on here off of a new Tiffin, for instance. More like 25%-28%.
Depends on the type of unit (TT, 5th wheel, Class A, etc) and the manufacturer and dealer.

I'll keep our RV the average of 5-7 years. Were going on year 6 in our present RV ( 26' tt). Have started kicking tires...it could be tomorrow or it could be two years from now till we find "that next RV".
Going back to Alaska in 19', so kind of want something well before that to work any bugs out.

Good point on the rig in question. My 43% off was a keystone fuzion fiver th....you aren't normally going to get anywhere near that off a newmar or tiffin....that being said, I recently saw a 2016 4002 Dutch star (allegedly new) for 239...msrp was 395 or so...I couldn't believe it (unfortunately we r buying land and I couldn't pull the trigger on the ds)

I just add what is offered to the spreadsheet.
We have four that were new in the list. Some are shown as 2 years old as they were bought after new models came out.

Beware, on new units, there is no law requiring a dealer to actual quote the true MSRP. Some dealers will claim a higher MSRP, then offer a bigger % off to make the deal look good. On my last purchase, I had the true MSRP including option pricing direct from the manufacturer. One 'wholesale' dealer was showing a much higher MSRP, many thousands of $$ higher. When confronted with this disconnect, they suddenly lost interest in my business. I would at least validate any MSRP number by looking for the same unit across multiple dealers thru the internet or better yet, get published MSRP and dealer cost numbers.

Good point....
I think there are dealers that pretend to be your friend only to get you to finance the RV. I just think too many people are more worried on what the payment is, rather on what the new (or used) RV is really costing them.

Well, seeing how he OP posted in TT, 5th wheel and truck camper, I was assuming that is what he was asking about. Ordering a Tiffin at 29% off is doable (I know from personable experience), but 28% and under is more the norm.
Edited to add: ... and I'm not talking about artificially jacked up MSRP prices.

Yes, I am looking at fifth wheels. Mostly doing research in case a used unit fails to materialize and I end up buying new, or for figuring out a decent used price.

As far as a used higher end 5er's, there has to be a bunch out there on the market. You just have to decide, what is a fair price. A lot of people selling a used one will say "this is a $80k rig" when in fact they only paid $55k. You almost have to keep a notebook on what stuff is advertised at.

RV value
Purchased from, CW 2012 346LBQ was purchased for $52,xxx July 2012 MSRP advertised at that time was $72,xxx trade in offered to us from CW February 2017 was $15xxx to $18xxx over the phone. my value is $25xxx to $31,xxx depending on season. needless to say we still like our setup. although if and when we would buy new or used id probably purchase new or used DRV or NEW HORIZON.

That's some pretty serious depreciation, on the trade value. I can't get believe the asking price on most used RV's - the markup there is just as bad or worse than new.

I have looked at a number of 'wholesale' dealers which showing a much higher MSRP, many thousands of $$ higher than what we bought our new 5er. I was surprised as I saw price's 20K over what we started to bargain with, we got the price we ask for on trade-in, an was not surprised t see our old unit listed 4k over what they gave us on trade

Well my 2 cents worth is that the MSRP IS 40-50% higher than what the actual price is. Based on a recent purchase I think most pay more than they should.
