Roll on or sprayed roof?
Anyone with experience on the spray-on roof ? Looks good on their on line video but they are fairly costly. It claims to make the roof completely water proof and is guaranteed for life against leaks. The roll on guys make the same claims and are somewhat cheaper. Since I am planning on keeping my rig for a good bit longer, I am interested if anyone has experience with either of these processes.
Thanks,
Catfish

Catfish, I really wish I could give you a definitive answer...... Maybe in 10 or 20 years!!!! We're going to Arizona and get the "spray on" this summer.
I did a bit of research, and am going to "roll the dice" on the spray on.
Best of Luck, memtb

I had the RV Flex Armour Sprayed on my Cedar Creek last November, as I plan on keeping it forever, they removed both AC's so as to get complete coverage. It is a Lifetime warranty and is transferable. yes it is expensive but not much more so than a new rubber roof which you have to maintain. I love the maintenance free aspect of the spray on roof. Just a side note, I took my CC to an Authorized dealer, not someone who comes to you an sprays your RV

Would anyone be willing to share costs?
Was just told our original rubber roof (2005) is on its last legs...

I believe he meant to tell him what was paid for one's job. Not share the cost.

For comparison, retail on a new rubber / EPDM roof on a 37 foot 5th wheel, $7000-$9000, if done correctly.

It's a bit long, but since you asked...
Originally posted on another forum last September:
I picked up our Rushmore yesterday, and am very pleased with the installation of the Rhino Eco Coating roof. They seem to have done a professional, neat, and thorough job.
It was installed by Rhino Coatings of Auburn, WA; however, I found two RV dealers in Washington state that also install Rhino roofs – one in the Long Beach area and one in the Tri-cities area. The Auburn outfit charges $180 per linear foot of roof.
It is a 5-day process that includes the following:
Removal of roof-top equipment (A/C’s, vent fans, etc.).
Removal of rubber membrane and caulking at front and rear fiberglass transition joints, and replacement of any other caulking that has deteriorated.
Replacement of any plywood that has water damage (at extra cost). In my case, no repairs were needed to the plywood.
Fill any plywood joints that have gaps.
Grind down/sand off all glue residue and any filled joints.
Apply primer coat.
Apply Rhino coating. The coating appears to be a little less than 1/8-inch thick. In my case, they overlapped the front and rear fiberglass caps by about 3-inches, and overlapped the metal strips that previously secured the rubber on the sides down to, but not into, the rain gutters.
Reinstall roof top equipment.
The coating is silver in color and is visible on the sides above the rain gutters. We think the silver looks fine with our color scheme, but we could have opted for the edges to be painted with a special paint with various colors to choose from. That would have cost an additional $500.
Note: My RV dealer quoted me $9000 for a new rubber roof that would be warranted for 1 year. The Rhino roof came with a 10-year warranty and cost $6500. The Rhino Corporation warrants the coating material, but everything else is warranted by the individual dealer and the length of their warranties will vary.
