Since we boon-dock 99.999% of the time we ALWAYS run with the Refer “ON” Would you rather have Propane or Ptomaine?

I've had a ARP controller for almost 2 years. Smart move. I have the unit with the fan control and use it to control the Fridge Fix inside the fridge which is great. It also controls the two Corsair fans in the roof vent. With the fan control these a trailer fans only run when the fridge is running and producing coolant.

Never ran with the fridge on. Food will stay cold as long as you keep it closed. Always turned gas off while traveling, it's the safe thing to do. We now have a residential fridge with an inverter so it stays on. Would never go back to RV fridge.

I run on the road with the inverter on and the pump to make ice while going ....Cocktails at 3:00 will not be compromised due to lack of ice! No problems in 7 years! It's a Norcold and makes faster ice that our Samsung in the kitchen. I must be lucky to have a good one!

Bob I don't believe that lose of gas was even considered. I would not fuel up with the gas turned on. If that refer kicks on there is fire and that is bad around gas fumes. I will agree that it is something that is rare but it would sure ruin your day.
Don't travel the East coast where they have tunnels either. Virginia comes to mind. They have signs about the gas being turned off. Don't know how big the fine is but they charge a lot for everything else out there.
I have just got into the habit of turning it off, using a fan in the refer and enjoying my day with one less thing for Mr. Murphy to mess with.

I turn my fridge on a couple of days before we leave out and never turn it off until we return and remove everything out of it, am I missing something?
