RV withdrawals
I solded my 5th wheel last month and starting looking for my next one. Then my dear wife suggested we wait till the end of this year to see how the RV market does and if rates fall. And also we could save up more for a nicer 5th wheel. Okay, her logic is reasonable, but for the last 25 years I have always had a camper. Thinking about going this summer without a camper is a little unsettling for me, and I have never been a fan of hotels either. I think I'm having RV withdrawals 😕 . Don't know if I am going to be able to wait until the end of the year. Just love the convenience of having a camper.
Anyone else ever felt this way?

Interesting, because that's exactly what we're looking for. There are not many around as I guess that floor plan has become popular recently.
Redwood, Riverstone, Landmark, Beacon, and DRV all have aft kitchen models. We're looking at aft kitchen models as neither of us wants to climb steps which the fwd kitchen models have.

Rear Kitchen 5th wheel
Yes I've had RV Withdraws after selling most of my RV's could not wait to get another one. I've been RVing 50 plus years. I just got a 2020 Forest River Cherokee Arctic Wolf 271RK with a rear Kitchen. I just hope we will get to use it. Wifes Illness may force us to sell it. I just installed a 400 watt solar system a few months ago for it. Here is a link to pictures of the 5th wheel and the reason why I bought it.

Go get a part time job while you are RVless. Get an even better RV. You're going to want to get out of the house.

For us the desire to hit the road has always been the determining factor.
You situation may vary.

My wife says hitting the road in our rv is one of the best therapies for her.

Yes my friend you are very right. I think this saying has been around since the beginning of time: "Happy wife, Happy life".

I am finding a lot more rear kitchen models than front. I'm leaning towards the front models because I don't think things will bounce around as much as a rear kitchen would, but I too would prefer no steps. I would assume if the camper had IS it wouldn't bounce as much, so I am looking into that also.
Good luck with your search.

Our first 5th wheel was a rear kitchen model. We had no issues with glassware breaking or items bouncing around.
On our walk through of the rear kitchen model the dealer instructed us to put couch pillows and other soft items like towels in the cabinets to keep things in place. Never had anything break but we did learn to put heavy items in the floor cabinets. To this day when we pull our latest 5er we do the same thing placing couch pillows and soft towels in the top cabinets with the plates and glassware. Also, heavy items are placed in the lower cabinets.
Rear kitchens work great as long as you plan for the movement of items when traveling.
