Slam Latches

We recently bought a 2019 Saber 5th wheel, I was disappointed when the cargo doors did not have slam latches, is it possible to remove the tradition latches install slam latches in the doors. I understand there will some modifications required if so.

Thanks for the help.

We have 2012 Saber and it has slam latches in the side doors not the front. How thick are your doors? I don't know for sure, but if they are the same doors I don't see why they can't.

They are the standard thickness, I just found the RV Designer collection has a latch that fits the standard round hole. Looks reasonably priced through Camping World. I am still going to investigate the full size latches. Thanks for the info.

I installed lockable metal slam latches.......slam latch doors are thicker, so I cut out a shim for the backside, and added 2 30 lb gas shocks to each of the three doors.....I also left the twist latches in place to use while traveling as a safety....
