Slide not working / motor is working
Hi all. i have a 13 torque 301. i didnt see any repair type of forum. Anyway, I have a slide (that is cable and has the couch in it). It will not go out when i press the switch . Its stuck inside. The motor does spin though. I think there is something broke (shaft maybe) that connects the motor to the gearbox? I just need to know what to order. Then i will be back in business. Hopefully you can see the pic well enough. Thanks

Had to download and expand to the limit to see; what I would call a flexible coupler , electric motor to gear reduction box.
Hope you don't have to buy the motor to get what you need, any idea of the manufacturer of the slide drive?
Any idea why there is slack in the chains, there could be a binding problem in the mechanism that broke the coupler.

Sorry. I did my best with picture. It is a flexible shaft about 2" x 1/16 th of an inch that connects between the motor and the gear box. I replaced it already. I had to overnight it from the manufacturer. This is a very bad design. It's a Norco bal for accu slide. $30 for a tiny and light piece that is not durable at all. The way it's geared , it has to turn several times to move the slide. If that happens again and I'm out somewhere I'm screwed cause you can't manually crank the slide cause the motor is connected to the gear box by that shaft pin! The only reason you would manually crank the slide is if the motor went. The pic is the new one. The old was shredded.can't believe they charge what they do for these rvs and they put parts like this in them. Now I'm just trying to fine tune the adjustments. I might have loosened that chain before the picture. I don't remember.

Expanding the picture was no problem , glad to help.
$30 is a rip off , the part is made up of , what used to be used as , speedometer drive cable , and back in the day, you could by it in bulk and there was a tool sold to create the square drive ends.
My last 4 snowmobiles used a similar part , about the same length , to go from the drive sprocket shaft to a right angle speedo drive that drove a second cable to the dash.
If you live in an area where snowmobiles are sold, try a Polaris dealer , 1997 XLT, and price the part there. Don't know if it was used in anything newer. Or a very old automotive repair shop may still have the tool.

Thanks. Yeah I'm near buffalo. Someone said that's not a common failure. I did have something going on with that slide before this happened though. Don't remember if it was doing it when the slide was fully extended or fully retracted. But, the motor would make a noise like someone was pressing the switch in short bursts. Someone said it might be the switch but it hasn't done it lately

If the slide was powering up to try and move when it couldn't then that's what destroyed the part, that type of cable could be twisted off by a lack of lubrication in a 6 foot casing between the transmission and the dash board.
