Slide out goes out, but not in!

Our bedroom slide out goes out, but will not retract. We had to manually crank it in. Not fun! I've checked the switch, of course it works because it will go out;
Ideas? Besides calling a mobile rv tech at this point?
Thanks!

I presume your slide switch is a two position momentary rocker arm switch - up is "out" and down is "in" and when you let go it the slide stops and the switch returns to center... and that it is controlling an electric slide motor.

If you have a meter you can check your switch itself to ensure both sides are working... no meter? then you could swap the connections on the back to see if you can replicate the issue in the other direction.

Double check your connections - the one on the "in" side of the switch, the connections at the motor, and the wires in the wiring loom that moves as your slide goes in and out.

Sounds like a loose or broken connection on the "in" side of the circuit.

Without seeing it kind of hard to provide any better specific advice.

Hope this helps a little.

Possible loose, broken or corroded on the "In" side of the switch.

It could certainly be a switch bad. Check it with a meter.

The rocker switch may not control the motor directly, there may be a relay in the circuit. Motors draw quite a bit of current and the rocker switch may have a lower amp capacity. Best bet is to get a wiring diagram and do some testing.

Where to get a wiring diagram? They seem to be very rare on towed RVs...

No, it doesn't work. One side of the switch does....the "out" side not the "in" side.

Rolfsted, how many wires on the switch,,,3 or 6. If 3 the power would be attached to the "swinger" and the load would be connected to the other two. As an example "in" / "out" In one position the swinger connects to OUT and that works. If the swinger connects to the opposite contact and there is a "bad" contact your slide won't come back in. If there are 6 wires on the switch it's a double pole double throw ,center off. This type of application can directly reverse the drive motor. (if the switch has the amp capacity)
In any case you need a wiring diagram to simplify the solution.
