You said you have a Montana. I don't know if that's a MH or a TT or a 5th wheel. We had a TT with two slides and I used supports on the long slide. Never had an issue.
Always consider this. Just as the non answer you got from Keystone there's lawyers involved. Adding anything to their design is a concern for them. When your slide breaks have fun getting them to fix it. If you used jack supports they have another excuse for not fixing it. All we did was use some screw jacks to add extra support when extra weight was added to the slide. I didn't jack or raise the slide up and that's why they say NO don't use them.
It's your call. I used them and was not worried.
