I see what u mean but put 4 jacks at each corner of the car and test your theory again.. I use them and xchocks and its solid. I agree with them as long as there just snug under the rails not lifting think of it as a catamaran

Just heard back from Keystone and the reply was somewhat disappointing and lacking in advice. They indicated that as the slide was an aftermarket product, they could not comment on its use and recommended I contact an RV dealer for their opinion. Sounds like a classic legal dodge/pass the buck to me.

You said you have a Montana. I don't know if that's a MH or a TT or a 5th wheel. We had a TT with two slides and I used supports on the long slide. Never had an issue.

Always consider this. Just as the non answer you got from Keystone there's lawyers involved. Adding anything to their design is a concern for them. When your slide breaks have fun getting them to fix it. If you used jack supports they have another excuse for not fixing it. All we did was use some screw jacks to add extra support when extra weight was added to the slide. I didn't jack or raise the slide up and that's why they say NO don't use them.

It's your call. I used them and was not worried.

Never really needed them on my Alpenlite and my living room slideout is about 12 feet long.

The information is out there, all you have to do is let it in.

Those type stabilizers come from the era when the first sliding rooms became available on RV trailers. We called them tip outs or pull outs as it was all done by hand. Early models didn't have any type of gear or pulley system that would hold or move the tip out against the wall of the trailer.
So we used the stabilizers.
Back then there were few gravel surface campsites...no concrete..... mostly just dirt.
When it rained it was all but impossible to keep the trailer stabilizers and the slide out stabilizers at the same place as the trailer will always sink in the mud.

Fast forward today with gear and hyd operated slideouts that hold them tight against the exterior wall eliminates the need for them.

Use them if you want but just be warned I've seen a few slideout repairs with holes punched in the bottom from a stabilizer.....even when they were required and we had to use them.

My last two RVs came with 13' slideouts. One was gear operated and the other was a hydraulic unit. Both kept the slideout tight and in place.
