Slide topper fabric

I was cleaning my rig today and noticed that my slide topper fabric is not in a channel type retainer. It is under a flat piece of aluminum extrusion which is screwed to the side of the rig. One piece has pulled out from under it and I am going to have to remove the screws and put it back under the trim piece. Has anyone else seen toppers mounted this way. It a Carefree of Colorado topper and the fabric looks to be in good condition. Just with all the rain we get here, it has pulled it loose. Does anyone still put partially aired up beach balls under their toppers to support them and keep the water from pooling..

That sounds like some kind of do-it-yourself job.

Maybe done by first owner or at a shop. Not sure, checked all of the toppers and they are all mounted same way....Also noticed the reason mine are holding water is they are mounted with the fabric mounted on the rig level with the top of the roller instead of being a little higher so water would run off...am waiting on the rain to stop before making necessary repairs...
