Here is something to consider although a different situation. Your problem could by the result of a number of different things.
I read recently on another forum how the 30A fuse for the landing gear on a fifth wheel would blow when raising or lowering the gear. The problem was simple - a nut on a wire lug was loose resulting in a poor circuit and overheating.
It wouldn't hurt to take a look at the wiring connections to your slides motor.
Good luck.

What you may be hearing is a thermal breaker resetting. Question is, why is it tripping? I would first locate the breaker and replace it unless you have knowledge & equipment to check the amp draw first.

It would be nice if you posted your rig. Anyway, some units, and I know Keystone uses a self-resetting breaker on the slide pump. Early models had a 40 amp, yet the pump can draw up to 80 amps, expecially if the slides stick at all. Mine would work fine if hooked to shore power, but if dry camping for several days the batteries would be down just enough to draw more amps causing the breaker to cut-out. The solution, get another breaker and put in in paralled with the OEM (this is even suggested by Keystone). Just a thought on your problem.

Your description sounds like there is excess drag on the slide mechanism causing a 12V relay to open, then re-close after it cools.
Electric driven slide motors or hydraulic pump moving the slide? Has the slide mechanism been greased or oiled? If the answer is yes that might be the problem. Anything sticky like grease or oil attracts dirt, sand, and road grime. Together these make a crude grinding compound, which causes problems.
Have you used a seal lubricant on the slide seals? It is a good idea to keep them coated to reduce the drag on the slide walls.

I have a battery cut-off switch that I keep turned off when the RV is at home and connected to AC power, otherwise the converter will overcharge the battery, boiling out the water. If I try to run the slides in or out with the battery switch off, they do exactly as you describe, stopping several times in the middle. When that happens, I know what the problem is and go turn on the battery switch long enough to get the slides in or out.
