Just replaced the nuckle busting glass sliding door catches with soft strong 3M Brand modified cable straps. They use self, very strong, adhesive. No more brocken fingernails.
Pictures are in the Photo Gallery.
Hope you like the idea.

Hi Powerboater,
Here is the URL, they are located in the Hardware/Picturehanger section at Home Depot. I will post a pic of the box on my picture page. I should tell you that I cut the cord, then rotated one of the halves 180 degrees.

If you want to email me I'd be more than happy to send you more info if needed.
Email me at tootall41103@yahoo.com
I have broadband cable and can mail you all the pictures you should need.

Did'nt have our 5ver more than 3 mos before sliding door latch broke. Studied it a bit, went into my "magic" box, found two metal 2" L's normally used as corner braces (2 screw holes in each leg of them).
Masking taped the two together, kinda like a square Z, slipped this in between the two doors at the bottom rail. Been using this "gadget" for the last 5 yrs now.
