Sre 3000 upgrade
So today i replaced (again) my worn out 3500lb leaf spring packs. I upgraded to 8 leaf 4000lb springs and the morryde hd shackle and wetbolt kit. Its a very nice upgrade and the springs got me the couple inches height i needed. When i pulled everything apart i noticed that my cre3000 equalizers are worn out. I had to beat a couple bolts out of them even though they had the bronze bushings in all 3 holes and the top pivot hole is way egg shaped. The trailer is a 2016 so i figure it cant have more than 30k miles on it or so, but is there an upgrade to the rubberized equalizers? The rubber is on its last legs too. Im not interested in an independent setup, i just want a reliable leaf spring suspension.
Thanks in advance!

Did you have bronze bushing that are worn out or the plastic bushing in the leaf springs? How much weight is the axle holding up ? What's your trailer GVW rating?
For most owners that have done the full upgrades all the issue if your under 15,000 lbs GVW they seam to last. over that buggy springs done last.

So how heavy is your trailer? my 5th is under 10,000 lbs and i skipped right over the MoRryde 3000's and went right to the 4000 probably overkill but they have almost 20,000 miles on them and still look like new. also put the x factor on the equalizer bracket and at the outboard fixed shackle ends. trailer rides very smooth. were the wet bolts greased regularly? I have heard if you contact MorRyde, they may help you out?

I guess i didnt think to include those items. The trailer is a 16 fuzion 385 hauler, 17k gvw. Its got dexter 7k axles on it and ive scaled the axles at just over 12 with the golf cart inside and a moderate load. All of the 3500lb springs had the nylon bushings in them all the time, but only one eye had the bushing show much wear. It was worn, but not worn through. The kitchen slide is on the passenger side and those are the springs that have already been replaced. The first set i replaced were pretty flat and i was having rubbing issues. The second set that i replaced today had gone completely flat and the rear main spring was a little bent. The equalizers have bronze bushings that were worn completely through, but no wetbolt from the factory.
The new items include the 4k springs, hd shackles, and complete wetbolt kit.

After reading some on morrydes site, it looks like the 3000 is the heavier duty option as far as rating. Im not obligated to morryde by any means if someone else makes a more stout product.

The sre4000 is rated for up to a 7000lb axle where the cre3000 (whats under the fuzion) is rated up to 8k? Thats on morrydes website.

I am thinking the heavier duty springs will help a lot. That when the other springs flattened out that caused the CRE3000 to wear out faster. I had CRE3000 on the 5th wheel that I had and they lasted until I sold it with probably 30,000 miles. My 5th wheel only had 6,000 lb. axles which was it's weak spot.

It was both sides though, not just the flat side. They have a 2 year/45k warranty on them so i guess maybe ill try them again, make sure i keep them greased since it doesnt look like the suspension saw any grease previously, and hang on to my reciept. Ive just never seen a bronze bushing wear like that. My john deere has all bronze bushings for a bumch of things and ive had a hard time cutting them with a grinder because its self lubricating. I guess ill try it again under my own care.

Humm - both sides were worn out. Even the side with the better spring. You will need to obseve the new set-up. It helps being one with the fix because you will have a better understanding of what to watch for.
The old addage was that a slide added 1,000lbs. Not sure how true that is but 1,000lbs extra is a lot of weight on one side.
This could be a case study.

Correct I had them install SRE4000's at the factory a couple years back.

I put disk brakes on my 14K 5W and while doing that the brake supplier told me the Dexter 7K axle is identical to the 8K. What makes the 8K is the studs are 9/16 vs 1/2inch and the outer bearings is larger. The rotors came with 9/16 studs and 32 new lug nuts. I did the upgrade from them for $68 dollars and now have 8K axles under there. Loving the disk brakes, not sure why it's not standard or an option on the larger RV's Night and day differance.
I did email MORryde and ask if the web had a miss print on the weights.

I bought a brand new Big Country that came with the Morryde CRE3000. All I did was drive it home about 15 miles. I wanted to add the wet bolts. When I got under to do the install this is what I found. The second picture is after they were replaced.

Wow, i have to wonder how long those were sitting on the shelf. If not that long, must be some junk rubber. Ill be calling morryde around lunch time if its not posted in here which is the actual heavier duty version. Between the springs and new equalizers im expecting to gain total 3-4 inches height over where i was at before. The rubber on my equalizers isnt gone but when sitting you cant see much of the slot on the bottom. I need to get parts ordered today so i can hopefully get them on by the weekend. I was thinking about a weekend trip to deals gap while the wife is at my inlaws in tampa.
