St 245-80-16 - 14 ply

Just purchased a 2009 cardinal 30st GVWR 13,900 lbs 7000 lb axel. The original tires were age dated and they will replace. Original tiers 235-80-16 e 10 ply. I told the to get 14 ply Sailun tires. They called me and said they got 245-80-16 14 ply would the 245's be ok. They said there it's room for the larger tire. I believe the wider tire would be fine what do you guys think?

As it turns out they are 235-85-16r 12 ply Dynatrail tires from Double Coin. I asked for Sailun but they couldn't find tires close buy. From all account the Dyna trail will do fine. Will support 3,850 lbs and can take 95psi.

I was told one time (and please check this with the tire dealer) that valve stems are the only difference between say a 90 psi rated rim vs a 115 psi rim. Another thing to keep in mind, if the trailer rides low in the front that puts more weight on the front axles. Make sure the trailer is being towed level by adjusting the hitch and/or pin box height on the trailer.
