Stand-up paddle board

We want to take a stand up paddle board with us. I am thinking about ratchet strapping it to the ladder, supporting the bottom with a bike/chair rack hanging near the bottom of the ladder. Anybody ever done this?

I’ve not done what you suggest, but I see no reason it won’t work. A good SUP isn’t heavy, so as long as it’s adequately supported and secured I think the ladder is a fine place for it.

I suppose you already own the rigid SUP’s but we take two inflatable SUP’s with us.

#2 for inflatables. Pretty Ridgid when blown up to the correct person and stow small when not in use.

Never have liked the idea of handing anything, especially something that will catch air, to the ladder on a RV. They are barely capable of being climbed on by anyone with any weight to them. I imagine the stress of the air at highway speeds against the board pulling the ladder away from the RV would be pretty significant. I see folks all the time going down the road with stuff strapped to them, from other ladders to bikes, to kayaks. But I don't believe I'd do it.

In actuality there is almost completely dead air against the back of the RV. As long as the PB is within the dimensions of the back wall.

Thanks for the responses. We have seen the inflatables and while we do have an inflatable kayak our paddle board is rigid. I had thought about the wind but like mobilemike said I think most of the air should go around it. I think we will give it a shot.
