Teflon pad owners

So with my new hitch I dont wanna get a bunch of grease all over. I see teflon pads are a big thing nowadays. Can anyone tell me how they attach and how u like em? Pics would be awesome as well. Thanks all!

They just slip on over the kingpin, tight fit over the widest part but they'll go on. It helps if they are warmed up just a little. I wouldn't use anything else.

Are they all universal? I found some on ebay for $10-15. Is that normal?

Buy the one that is 12inches in diameter. Everyone that I have seen the hole that fits over the kingpin on 5er is same. Don't know maybe some of the older 5ers may have smaller kingpins but I doubt it. Yes normal price is $15

Cool. So just lift the pad up around the kingpin and force it into place?

Looks good. Some are thicker than others, but they have all worked well for us. The only thing I have found is with this trailer I have to hit the top of the hitch when hooking up. If I hit down on the ramp the disk sides back, the fingers will bend down and keep the hitch from latching. Pull test; FAIL Previous lighter trailers we had didn't do this.

I have one and like it. I agree they are hard to get on, but if you get it into position, the hitch will push it up into place the first time you use it.

I have used several over the years and love them. Would NEVER go back to grease!! I usually have to give it a few taps with a hammer to get it into place on the king pin.
