If you can get by without a slider you may want to look into this: https://www.lci1.com/goose-box

I use the 20k version on my 36ckts and love all aspects of it. I do, however, have an 8' bed.

There are GN hitch manufactures that make a 4" offset ball adapter that would move the GN ball 4" rearward to help aleviate any cab/cap clearence concerns... B&W turn-over system comes to mind.

Food for thought...

Any time you use an offset on the hitch you are asking for trouble. First and foremost is the fulcrum affect it exerts on the ball. Second just locking that offset in place with set screws is an accident just waiting to happen. A panic stop could break it loose and now it will be able to swing forward 8 inches instead of being rearward 4. Imagine an 8 ton rock maybe traveling at 55 mph being slung forward in your box. Not going to be pretty. JMHO

You make some very valid points. I don't imagine they would apply, though, to the B&W. You see... the shaft is square. The locking pin merely prevents the ball or adapter from lifting out.

A twisted up B&W adapter means that the rig has already been hit with a catastrophic force that would likely require towing the entire rig away from the scene... or worse.

I appreciate your words of advise. If the scenerio you presented were true in this case, I too would advise against it.
