edit;
I just looked at a Sprinter 298 FWRLS.
It has a 12270 GVWR
2540 lb CCC
9730 shipping
with ST225/75-15 D tires.

If your going with a 16" size the Bridgestone R-250 LT245/75-16 E at 3042 lb will give you 12168 lb capacity. This tire is a commercial grade all steel ply carcass and is tops for trailer service on 5200 -6000 lb axles.

I use the BFG Commercial and Cooper HT-3 commercial class tire on my 11200 lb 5th wheel trailer with 5200 lb axles in a LT215/85-16 E at 2680 lb capacity.

You sure don't need G load tire on that size trailer.
oops...brain wasn't hooked to fingers while typing. Yes it's 12,270 GVWR. GAWR 5080 each with 15 x 6 rims.

I wanted a larger load rating for piece of mind mainly. Doing a long trip next summer . South TX to KC to Black Hills to Whidbey Island WA to Napa to Bakersfield to Phoenix (probably around late July by then) then home to Rio Grande Valley TX...maybe.

Don't trust the stock Trailer Kings.

OK....I'm thinking about the Maxxis M8008 tires on my stock 15x6 rims.

Trailer King (stock) tires 2540# @ 65# 8 ply
Maxxis M8008 2830# @ 80# 10 ply
Should be a better quality tire...??

Don't know much about my rims other than 15x6. Keystone looked it up and all it said was "AIPDW Summit GM 2830" .

Question: Will I be OK at 80psi with the M8008s? Is anyone running Maxxis M8008 instead of factory tires? What psi do you run? How do you like them?

The max benefit of the E tire over the D tire comes at 80 psi.

Trailer with close spaced axles have lots of ply shear forces (side scrubbing) at the trailer is pulled around corners or backing maneuvers.
For that reason tire experts and some trailer tire makers recommend max sidewall pressures. Max pressure helps hold the tire tread/carcass belts together as it sliding sideways going around every corner and hard backing maneuvers.
Now at some point a tire may have too much capacity. This from ;

Tire Load and Inflation Ratings

Note: Towable – Travel Trailer/ 5th Wheel owners Due to the severe use conditions experienced by tires when axles are very close together – tire industry experts recommend maximum (sidewall) inflation pressure for towable tires unless this causes a sever over-inflation situation (20psi+), often referred to as the ‘basketball effect’. If this is your situation allow a 10 – 15psi safety margin above the minimum required inflation pressure.

I have run Carlisle on a 15,500# 5er about 18k miles without a problem. Running them on a 13,500 now with over 8000 miles. Only ever saw 1 problem on the net and that was an 11 year old tire.

I would not put a Carlisle tire on anything. I blew out 5 on my first 5er when I was young and dumb at RVing. I now have a 35' Hitch Hiler and switched form the Goodyear G614 tires to Goodyear G114. Makes no sense but the G114 are 'H' rated and 17.5". You have to change the rims also but have had no tire trouble since.
