Tire options...235/85R 16...newbee
my new 2 me 5'er needs new tires and it's GVW is 15,800#. it currently has LT235/85R 16 good years tires (factory originals from Jayco in 2006). I thought from my lurking/searching on this forum...you should use ST tires not LT tires? I'm looking for good quality tire option.

I went for the Bridgestone Duravis R250's, and they were $197 at Costco after a $70 rebate. The Michelin LTX ribbed tire is comparable in quality but more money. The G614 Goodyears are wonderful tires, but even more money.
The Sailun tire is another lower cost option, however their dealers are few and far between.
The only ST tires I would suggest are the Maxxis.
My Bridgestones have 1" thick sidewalls and they're 57 lbs. in weight. They're much more beefy tires than my Toyo Open Country A/T tires on my 3/4 ton tow vehicle.

The Sailun S637 in size LT 235- 85- 16 LR G will be perfect if your wheels will take 110psi. They should be marked on the back. These are commercial truck tires and are very well made with super thick sidewalls (61 lbs).

You probably already have the best option. Problem is, you didn't properly identify them. The LT235/85R16 without the load capacity letter on the end does not say anything about it's design. It could be a 10 ply rated tire or a 14 ply rated tire. Someone has already recommended a 10 ply rated tire which probably doesn't have enough load capacity for your trailer's GAWRs.

FastEagle...U are correct...they are LT235/85R 16 G rated tires.

well, spent the last two hours searching the internet for ST235/85 16 LRG tires...not to much out there! really surprising 
only found two... Good Year and Sailun...edit, oop's found a third...on Etrailer, Provider ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range G! and these don't meet the 5'er gvw, what is up with this? or am I confused by being a newbee? Help!

I replaced mine with Taskmaster Provider 235 85 16 F385's. 14 ply, G rated to 4080 pounds @ 110 psi. Great tire. Available at discount tire direct.com.

If you can find the ST235/85R16G they will be rated at 4080# at 110 psi.

Pulled the trigger on some new tires today. Decided to go with Sailun S637 after a conversation with Trailer Tires & Wheels in Edon, OH at the Performace Racing Industry show. They have sold Sailun S637 tires on trailers that put many miles hauling to race tracks per year and have no issues. So...my, new to me Designer, got some new Sailun tires. I'll keep U post on my results!

I would highly recommend GY "G" tires. Top quality I have towed thousands of miles with the G and H tires without even a flat.

Sailun tires...950 miles in two days...all is good! But I would expect that! being new and all....

Depending on your budget, where you live and if you know your actual weights of the trailer & tow vehicle you may want to consider going up to a 17.5" tire. We upgraded the tires on or usedDRV we bought due to loaded weights actual vs published. We bought new tires and rims a HI-Spec Wheel & Tire in Mishawaka IN just west of Elkhart IN where alot of RV are manufactured. They are actual manufactures of rims but supply assemblies to the manufaactures. They are able to provide either 9/16" or 5/8" stud sizes
They do not mount them for you on the RV but there prices on tire/rim combinations were only slightly higher than what some dealers were charging for tires. Below is a link to there webiste.
