Chevy 3500 dually in Virginia - $77 a year registration - no smog test in this area but county property taxes suck - about $1600 a year (2 payments @ $800). 3/4 ton and less get major reductions in assessed valuations.

The side that does not like guns will be.

The other side...................
Well lets just marinade in the fact that when Australia banned guns less than 30% of the guns were turned in.

I just paid the same amount to registration for my 2014 Ram but remember, not only are we paying for the Vehicle Registration, weight of trailer towed is also added in that fee.

It depends on which county you live in in CA . The less sparsly populated ones don't require diesel smog test.

Maybe they have some weird figure for the trailer you are capable of towing but they collect plenty from trailers registered too so that would be double dipping.

My fiver is registered out of state because I bought an RV lot at a gated resort. Figured rather than pay rent for parking it in a storage facility, I’d pay HOA dues and have a vacation spot 4-5 hours away and enjoy life the way it used to be in CA (not nearly the rules, restrictions & regulations).

Joe, when I first got our Ram 3500, I had to complete a DMV form at the dealership regarding the weight of trailer would be towed. If I recall, we are charged an extra 300+ just for that. Not sure If this was a dealer mistake or other Ram owners in CA had to complete the same DMV form.

Mine on a 2017 Ram dually for this year $4.89 in AR. Next year they well be $3.89. The reason a dollar less I had to buy a new plate. It is a veterans plate that is the reason it's this cheap. Still have to pay personal property tax on it though.

Just like here our home property tax is frozen after reaching 65, if you go to the court house and prove at least one is over, except for school tax. Guess what kind of tax they keep trying to get raised, you got it school tax.

In Oklahoma we pay a one time 3 1/4 percent of a purchase price excise tax to register our trucks. Say 1250.00 bucks on roughly 38k bucks.

No weight fee required for a truck or trailer non commercial vehicle in Oklahoma..

Then our annual tags or stickers are 96 dollars for year one through four on down to 26 dollars after 17 years.
California....gun nutz....sticks......

That’s weird. What if you get a smaller trailer next week.

I bought my Ram 3500 in Arkansas when out there. Took it back to CA to register. DMV told me to get the truck weighed at the scales by a weighmaster, do a smog test, and go to the CHP to get the VIN verified then come back to register. that was fun.

I will do everything I can to stay out of your state. I wish your people would quit Californicating my state.
