Is this 34 3/8" bed height from the ground at the center of the axle or near the tailgate ? The reason I ask is that with the rake of the truck, it could be more than that at near the tail gate.

My 2017 Chevy dually is 34 3/8" at the center of axle but more like 36"+ near the tailgate.

I installed my 2 1/2" shorter rear springs. A true improved in terms of tailgate height and loading unloading the bed.

I added third member travel limiter chains to keep from throwing the springs out due to undo level situation.

Hello, I know this is old thread, but I have been researching doing the same thing to my Ram 2500. What was the result with your fifth wheel hooked up with the shorter springs? Did it ride on the bump stops? How about ride quality? Thanks
