I thought about the 215 size tires. But i I think there the same height as the 235/80/16 tires that are currently on the original rims. However the idea behind the larger wheel and tire was primarily the fact that there better at handling weight. But also my thinking was that the 5ver would sit a tad higher and be a little closer to level behind my medium duty truck. Its not to far away from level now. I have the TSLB trailer saver so not much adjustment at this point. The wheel and tire idea was an easy method of lifting it up. Then the 17.5 aluminum rims popped up. LOL if this makes sense.

Triple axle Newnar Kountry Aire.
Good move if the trailers has 7k axles or max loaded 6k axles. This was about the only upgrade till the new gen 16" G tires came along.

Another good move is the Sailun S637 ST235/85 or 80-16 G load range/110 psi at 4080 lbs capacity. These are a commercial grade all steel ply carcass tire and 75 mph speed rating.
I have these on a GN triaxle trailer/7k axles. Very popular with haulers and rv folks with heavy trailers.

However many trailers come with 5.2k/6k axles and 16" ST E with under 2800-3000 lb tire loads. The 17.5" package/4800 lb capacity simply isn't needed.

At some point trailers unlike a truck can be over tired.
