Used RV Check List

I am going with a buddy to pick up his new used 5th wheel. 2021 Grand Design Solitude 310GK. It is being purchased from a dealer. What should we check for when when pick it up?

The simple answer is to run everything, every system. Hook up water, sewer system, run the hot water tank, furnace, fridge, run water in each faucet, toilets, etc.... If they have TV turn it on and make sure they know how to work it, and the antenna works, at least. Put water into the fresh tank and make sure the water pump works. in a short answer I would plan on about
3-5 hours going over everything on/in the camper.

Our PDI on our NEW unit took us 4 hours, and we left there telling the dealer we will be back on Thursday to picked it up, with all the repairs completed. I returned on a Thursday afternoon and the dealer agreed to me staying over night on the lot and Friday morning I gave them another list of 3-4 other items I found. We returned Saturday afternoon and finished the paperwork and left with the rig.

If something does not work, get it repaired before final signing of the papers, don't agree to bring it back at a later date because "we are swamped right now."
Here is where he needs to stand his ground and tell them, I am not signing until I am satisfied with everything is working.

Just to close out this thread. We picked the unit up on Tuesday. Overall everything came out well but the experience was so-so. Mostly the dealer didn't have it ready. Thank fully we went on Monday afternoon to do a quick review before pickup on Tuesday. When we started there was something going on with the water and an electrical problem. The water problem was simple as was the electrical but it was like a circus to get things fixed. The electrical problem had a fuse popping but they didn't know where the cause was AND they didn't have any fuses. This was on Monday night. We ended up getting back the dealership later than we planned on Tuesday but it still was not ready. Electrical issue was fixed but they hadn't cleaned/washed it. that took about 3 hours. A couple of cosmetic things were found and fixed (cannibalized a bezel from another unit) but it was fixed. Pulled out about 4 hours behind what we were shooting for. Just made trip go from 3 days to 4.

Overall things went ok. I felt like I was at a car dealer as the left and the right didn't appear to know what was going on. But in the end the unit is in good shape and we made it home with no issues.
