A Service Contract is a profit device for dealers and providers. It seldom pays out on enough items to cover the average buyer (except those that the industry call the 10%'ers). When they're doing poorly, they find a way to deny every claim, when they're doing OK, they only deny most of them. You can never count on getting reimbursed by a service contract provider...even if your exact failure is specifically spelled out in the contract as being covered. That's just the truth of the business.
Here's what I, a former manager of a service department that sold Service Contracts would recommend. Find the best program that suits you. Take the money you would pay for that program in full and put it in the bank. Then add to that amount every month...say $100...for the rest of your ownership of the 5th wheel. When you need something repaired or replaced, since you're self insured, at least you know you will be reimbursed. That is if you are a nice person.
