We have replaced the bedroom carpet with a very good grade peel-n-stick tile.

We replaced the carpet in our main living area with vinyl plank flooring several years ago. It only took one day including removing and replacing the jacknife sofa. It has held up extremely well and was money well spent. The most difficult part was removing all of the staples holding down the old carpet padding...hundreds of them!

Assembly line workers get paid by the staple ; didn't you know that ?

Big question about the Vinyl planking .
What temperature swings is your RV exposed to ?
If your RV is subject to periods of storage in sub freezing temperatures , the planks may not hold up well .
Obtain all the installation instructions for any product you consider ; prior to purchase .

No real issues for a good DYIer.

Picked out a LVP my wife liked at Lowes, the best Pergo they carried in stock. Went down pretty easy but a lot of piecing/cutting.

I needed a floor transition piece from LVP to Tile, Lowes carried that in stock. I need stair edge molding for the entry, slides and engine hatch cover in the bedroom. Had to special order that and it was expensive. The trim cost about 1/3 of the project cost but did give it a finished look.

I spent ~$1600 for the project, living room, bedroom, 2 slide out floors, and engine hatch.

I had a flooring pro install my lvp flooring. He choose our planking options based on the temperature ranges they would be exposed to. He also called the manufacturer to get their recommendation on installation on a motorhome and they said to glue it down although the planks snap click together.

Installed in 2019, couldn't be happier.

Booth dinette was removed to allow for a better installation Click image for larger version

Just redid the entire sticks and bricks, carpet out & flooring in all rooms except the bedrooms. Cuts with a compound saw and snaps together. No issues very simple to use.

I use water proof water resistant vinyl plank in apartments all time
get the thicker more expensive($3-4/SF)
not like you have more than 100-200 SF the cork backing is great and allows for small movement
cut it tight but allow 1/8" for movement
