Question Wal Mart Card Fuel Discounts?

I started noticing on my way back from Texas (to NC) that WM is no longer offering 5 cents discount on fuel/gasoline, by using their credit card or 3 cents discount for their gift card. I have stopped at several WM stations and they all appear to be doing this. Anyone else find this to be true?

It's true, they now give a 2% discount on your statement when you use their credit card. I liked the 5 cent a gal better.

It's now a 2% cash back on your bill with Walmart credit card and 3¢ per gallon off with Walmart gift card. The cash back pays more.
If you want to maximize, use a credit card that gives cash back or points to put money on a Walmart gift card. Then you get points on your cc and 3¢ off each gallon of gas. Lots of work but....😉

Not all Murphy Oil Stations are associated with Wal-Mart though they are located near Wal-Marts and we have found that these stations do not give the 3 cent discount using the gift card. Stations associated with Wal-mart still give the 3 cent discount. We have run into a few that do not offer the discount. Can use the gift card and get the discount at Sam's Club too.

Correct. Found out when we stopped at one that was within sight of a Walmart but on different property. The clerk said if they are not on the same piece of property, (ie, separated by a street or another business) then they are separate businesses and discount does no apply. 😮

We have been seeing the newer or redesigned Walmarts with no fuel station or no diesel at the pumps and several were not Murphy. Also seeing more that appear to be designed to keep larger rigs out of the fuel islands.

Are they getting away from being the RVers friend?
