Water Filter or Softner Recommendations

I never have used a water filter. But, due to my recent water issues. I am looking for any recommendations. What are your thoughts?

Reasonable? Any of the big box stores. Pay for something really good? Kinetico RO system. But it takes a lot of space.

I use a Flow Pur cartridge water fiilter. It works well. I also have a water softener. As I never know what the water hardness may be in a new area. These softeners are easy to recharge. Several different brands to choose from. Google RV water softeners.

Good luck and Happy Trails!!!

Dennis... You might want to take a week or so and gather a water quality kit...then send a sample of the water after you have filled the RV system... after gathering the feed back you will know have a great recommendation as to what you want to remove. I have a PUR tap mounted sediment and chlorine filter. It does remove cystaspores and some other evils but it is not a hardness filter and it is not a whole house filter system. So I had made a selection that I needed decent tasting water for making coffee and this does fine. I still shower in the plastic tank type water and for what it is worth it is OK on my skin.
