I had my 34' 5th Wheel out for a week and had it hooked up to city water with no problems. When we left the campground, for home, I cleaned out all the tanks (2 grey water and 1 black water), but did have 10 gallons of water in the hot water tank. After driving 150 miles or so, I stopped and found that there was a lot of water leaking AROUND the black ABS sewage hookup lines. When I got home, I poured 5 gallons of water in each of the grey tanks and found no valve leakage. I then drained out the hot water tank and retrieved 8 gallons from it. Although a lot of water from the hot tank didn't get directly in the 5 gallon buckets; it probably wasn't a full 2 gallons that I lost. I haven't put 5 gallons of water in the black tank, yet, but will tomorrow. The compartments are dry, especially around the hot water tank. I have insurance to repair this, but would sure like to have an idea of what it is, before I call a repairman in. Do you think it is possible that the hot water tank is leaking? It didn't at the campsite or at home, before I emptied it. Any help would be appreciated. Also, where we camped was at sea level and where I noticed the leakage was at 2500 feet.

You don't say anything about your freshwater tank. If there is water in it while driving down the road it sloshes around and could look like a water leak. It usually will leak out of the filler vent hole.

Doug & Jo- My freshwater tank was empty. The only water remaining in the RV, at the time, was the hot water tank, a gallon or so with chemicals in the black tank and residual water in the grey tanks. For the life of me, I can't figure out this one. The bottom of the RV has a shroud covering it, so I can't really check it out without removing a whole mess of small screws. But first I have to duplicate the leak. Thanks for the reply.
