Did you leave out any info in your post ?

Like ," now that you hooked to city water pressure , the fresh tank overflows "?

There is a back flow valve in the pump head that can pick up debris and leak city water pressure back into the fresh tank .
Rebuild kits are available for some 12 volt pump heads .
Or removing the pump head and cleaning it may cure the issue.

Question , did this issue only happen at one RV site ?
Because sometimes the park water pressure is so high that the valve just can't hold it back.

Why are you using the pump on city water? You check valve is stuck in the pump. No need to buy another pump. Clean or rebuild the one you have and leave it off when on city water.

Please clear up some confusion .....

Do you have a hose from CG spigot connected to 5th wheel and that supply is turned ON???

That is where the extra water is coming from.....either thru a 'FILL Valve' (if equipped) or backflow thru pumps internal check valve

IF connected to City Water....pump can be turned on but will NOT run unless City Water pressure drops below pump pressure switch start set point (40# or less)

Turn City Water OFF and use pump
Water flowing thru pump will sometimes clear the debris/scale from the check valve (diaphragm) and allow it to fully close

We need to know which tank is over flowing like Charliez asked. I am making the assumption that you are taking about the fresh water tank. If you are hooked to city water that is where the extra water is coming from like Old-Biscuit said and is probably the check valve on the pump like the others have said. I would turn off city water and run the pump to try to dislodge anything that is causing the check valve to malfunction before I tore it out and rebuilt or cleaned it out. It is probably in a place that is hard to access (I think that is a rule).

Mine have always been in easy spots. You may have to run it and listen to find it behind a panel or under a seat.

Mine was doing the same thing , backflowing through the pump when connected to city water. I added a ball valve in front of the pump and leave it off when connected .
