Weighed Empty

Took the RV to truck shop for inspection sticker and maintenance. RV was almost completely empty. Nothing in storage bays and almost nothing inside, i.e. clothing, bedding, food, dishes, etc. all in the house. I took it to Love's Truck stop and weighed on the CAT Scales.

Steer Axle: 5,100 lbs
Drvie Axle: 8,060 lbs
Trailer Axle: 12,240 lbs
Gross Wt: 25,400 lbs

Truck bed empty, fuel tank full, only me in the cab. Nice to have a reference weight. Getting ready for a month long trip April 1st.

What are the truck FAWR & RAWR?

What is the 5vr GVWR?

Dry weights are 'interesting' but really need 'camp ready' weights and Gross Weight Ratings for real information

What I have in a spreadsheet says:

FGAWR: 5,600 lbs
RGAWR: 9,375 lbs.

RV GVWR: 18,000lbs

I'll weigh again once we're loaded and on our way. I'll be able to determine the weight of all the contents loaded.

So it looks like I've got about 1,300 lbs capacity on the rear axle for the added pin weight after loading the RV.

Interesting your 13,160# dry on a GVWR of 13,025#. Best watch your pin weight. Still have room on rear axle rating.

Well the GVWR on the truck has always been a bit over by a few hundred pounds. Still have 1,315 lbs on the GRAWR. I believe the GMC is probably really 14,000 like the Ford and Dodge.

Just for refferance, Im over GVWR on my 2017 Chevy also, basically same as your GMC. My numbers below are packed and ready for travel. 36 gallons in the main tank and roughly 40 gallons in the Auxillary tank. I have the trailer saver so that's about 350lbs. Wife and 2 small dogs were not in these numbers but close enough

Steer Axle- 5240
Drive Axle- 8060
Trailer Axle- 12180
Total Axle - 25480
Pin weight on truck- 3700 + or -
My trailer GVWR is 16000

Pretty close. My trailer GVWR is 18000. My pin wt. is about 4,000 with the RV empty. It's a bit higher that I had figured, but I do have the trailer saver as well as a Onan 5500 genny in the front battery storage area. Together they add about 700 lbs.
