Tow vehicle is a 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500HD DRW towing a 2010 36TKSB3 Mobile Suites. To date we get about 7-10 mpg towing in the hills (not mountains) and 9-13 on the flatlands. Have logged about 8-9k towing the last two seasons. When not towing I get about 18-22 mpg. No mods to truck and have about 47k on the truck. I/we have another 9 months till we go full-time.

No major mods- just the basics. Cow catcher, mud flaps, 5th wheel tailgate, WeatherTec mats, and I think that's it. Just turned over 6K mileage. I really need to put some miles on this thing. I think I'm getting around 18mpg.

2005 Ford F-350 SRW 6.0 Power stroke. 171k miles. No mods, completely stock. 50 gallon Titan fuel tank.

8.0mpg towing our 15k# 5th- I have a heavy foot. I've seen 17mpg highway unladen.

2004 Dodge 3500 Heavy Duty 4x2 Crew cab DRW. 5.9L Cummins 6 speed. 197K miles. I took the muffler off, installed a cast differential pan and added a 1.5" spacer to the front springs. 19mpg empty 11-12 loaded 21,000 CGVW. Rebuilt the entire front end this year, oil changes every 7,000 with synthetic oils. Great truck!

Well congrats on getting the best MPG out of all of the 6.7 CTD Rams. Your secret is simply amazing.

Sometimes those electronic mileage meters exaggerate. Just saying.

No, they are right. It's the end user that exaggerate I have seen mine read at 1 time 23mpg...that's not real world average. I see 8 towing and 14.5 city and 18 highway

In other words most somewhat intelligent truck owners understand that your 28mpg milage claim while coasting 2 miles down a mountain is unrealistic. Well not yours but whoever said they are getting 23mpg out of a Cummins is pretty bogus

2011 F250 CCLB, 98,000 miles, 5er AND camper options, all stock engine and will stay that way. KYB shocks, Ride-Rite air bags, 5er tailgate. Open road empty mpg = 18-21, hauling the 12K 5er = 11-13 (low number is on 20% biocrap fuel), mixed/town driving = 14 -16.5 (we have winter blend fuel from Nov 1, hence the lower mpg number)

I agree... I have checked our mileage the old fashion way,, on paper. But our truck is real close, as in "average". Mine shows instant and you can set the average from like the last 50 miles up to I think the last 400 or maybe 500 miles. The Average is what you should go by.

Our last big trip (almost 2800 miles) we averaged 11.9 mpg, highway, two lane, city,,, That was running 70 mph on the interstates. Sure I did a test and it goes up running slower of course, but we are time limited. GCVW was around 17K .

I'm going to have to get a Ram. They must come with some sort of hidden power that boosts the mileage.
People on these forums want facts and the tendency to exagerate especially mileage is not doing anyone any good.
It seems to be a human tendency to always have to say that your (whatever) is the biggest and the best.
Enough sermon, need to go on Ram website to learn the secret.
