Who is still building fivers ???
I got a call today from a RV dealer and I told him I was interested in the Carriage line of fivers. He told me that they were not building them anymore. He then suggested a Fleetwood fiver. I got on the internet after talking with him and pulled up Fleetwood and they had posted they no longer in the RV business. They probably got a lot full of Fleetwood and want to move them. I guess just sales talk.

I would take a defunct Carriage hands down over a defunct Fleetwood 5th wheel. Lots of manufacturers have dropped out of the market over the past year. And the sales people can come up with some real good stories to sell there left over orphans.

A salesman that has to lie to sell his product is no salesman. If he did it out of ignorance, he is too stupid to be a salesman. If he knowingly lied, he should be shot and left to die by the roadside!
But then again, I have been know to rather hawkish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stopped by my local dealer (small, family-owned and operated place) for some propane the other day. We got chatting and he mentioned that 23 RV companies have gone under in recent months, including his TC (Sun Valley) and one of his TT/5er (Adventure Mfg) lines.
As far as who's left, here's a place to start looking:

I was looking at a Everest also and I think that is where they got my name. I got a call last week from another salesman as I was going out the door. This salesman told me they sold Carriage and Everest. The salesman today was just trying to sell something.. Tonight I looked up Tom Johnson RV in Concord, NC and they don't show they carry the Carriage line of fivers. They do have the Everest but I like the Carriage better. I was thinking of getting a new fiver around the first of the year.

Forest River Inc is still in business along with Keyston, Jayco and Nothwood. Not sure who else is left right now.

Yes it is true that Fleetwood is no longer in the TRAVEL TRAILER business, however they still make 5th wheels and motor holmes. Read the fine print.
